Who does Special Education benefit?

• They have a disability that affects their cognitive abilities, including attention, memory, language, reasoning, and problem-solving.
• Their disability causes them to experience difficulties in understanding information, remembering things, reading, writing, speaking, listening, or using numbers.
• They have been diagnosed with a disorder that affects their social behavior or emotional well-being.
How do we get Special Education?
If you think your child might qualify for special education, contact your local school district. You should also speak to your child's teacher about whether he/she thinks your child would benefit from special education.
If your child receives special education, his/her teachers will work with him/her to determine how best to teach him/her.
